From 2006 – 2016 many people participated in Bos Qigong training in Amsterdam.
They came from from Belgium, Switzerland, UK, Germany, France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Hungary, Japan, Turkey, Algeria, South Africa, USA…
So if you want to learn qigong/chi kung, but don’t speak Dutch well: no problem!
After 10 years I don’t teach in Amsterdam anymore.
In 2016 I moved to Doorwerth, a small village surrounded by forests, in the eastern part of Holland. Right now I’m taking a sabbatical. I’m deepening and developing my own practice, but have no group lessons planned. If you are really motivated to train with me anyway, we could make an appointment for online personal training via Skype, Facetime, or Hangouts. Or a session in outside in the beautiful woods of Doorwerth.
Is chi kung for you?
- Do you want to feel more grounded, centered, balanced, stable, strong, relaxed and energetic?
- You prefer something more quiet & relaxed than normal fitness training, aerobics, spinning, running?
- You are interested in a meditative approach, but don’t want to sit cross legged for hours?
- You’ve thought about yoga, but prefer to stand firmly on your feet instead of on your head?
- You like to watch tai chi (taiji) movements, but find ’the form’ (choreography) too complicated to learn?
- You want the healthy benefits of a martial art, but don’t need or don’t want the fighting?
- You like to (learn to) work with your intention, imagination, body awareness?
Then you will enjoy this chi kung training..!
What is Bos Chi Kung (Qigong)?
Chi (qi) = the Chinese term for life energy.
Kung (gong) = cultivation, work, training.
Chi kung (qigong) = fitness & energy training.
Bos Chi Kung = a special kind of chi kung, a kind of fitness and energy training, based on ancient principles enriched with modern insights, taught playfully and undogmatically.
How & why is Bos Chi Kung different from other styles?
Thousands of chi kung (qigong) styles exist in the world (see the list of qigong styles). Many are connected to ancient traditions belonging to certain families, locations in China, martial arts (kung fu, tai chi, da cheng chuan, bagua, etc.), philosophical or religious groups, forms of traditional Chinese medicine, etc.
Many of the qigong teachings are clouded with myths, Chinese terminology, secrecy, contracts, traditonal master-diciple relationships, etc. Most are promoted by their teachers and students as being the best. Or strongest, most original, purest…
Bos Chi Kung is:
- Easy to learn
- Uncomplicated
- Playful
- Without secrets, dogmas, complicated choreography, learning contracts, myths, masters, Chinese terminology.
- Largely based on Robberto’s 7 years of training in one particular style, enriched with 8 years of modern insights from different qigong styles and other movement arts
- An open approach
- A method where the learning is more important than the teaching, and the individual more important than the system.
- Mutual investigation and research. To find out what works for you, and what you like to do. Here and now. Because if you don’t DO it, it simply doesn’t work for you – however great and perfect the method may be for others.
What will you learn?
- How to feel grounded.
- How to “get out of your head”, into your body.
- How to feel more centered, by finding your physical center & mid line.
- How to develop your balance and stability.
- How to improve your circulation (and get warmer hands & feet).
- How to be more relaxed & joyful during movement & rest (while standing, walking and sitting).
- How to be more aware of your body as a whole, as unity.
- How to feel, develop, and conserve your energy.
- How to open your heart, body, and mind more (and close them if needed).
- Nice, tai chi like movements, without the complexity of tai chi.
